Jake Dennis Wins Pole Position In Formula E 2025 Jakarta
JAKARTA Jake Dennis from Andretti's team managed to secure his first pole position in Formula E this season after successfully becoming the fastest in the round 12 qualifying session which took place in Jakarta.
Dennis locked the position after defeating Taylor Barnard of NEOM McLaren at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), Ancol, North Jakarta, on Saturday, June 21, 2025, noon WIB.
The two British riders appeared strong throughout the session. However, the mistakes of Barnard and Dennis' perfect laps made him ensure the pole position for the first time in the GEN3 Evo era. Several big names were eliminated early, including top standings holder Oliver Rowland (Nissan) who will start from 17th position, as well as Maximilian Guenther (DS PENSKE) who dominated Jakarta two years ago by winning two pole positions.
The failure to advance to the duel round was also experienced by the two TAG Heuer Porsche riders, namely Pascal Wehrlein and Antonio Felix da Costa. Jake Dennis faces Taylor Barnard for pole position. However, the NEOM McLaren racer made a mistake in his lap so that the leading start position also became Dennis's.

Sebastien Buemi impressed by qualifying for the duel, and dealing with Mahindra Racing's Nyck de Vries. Mahindra became the only team with two riders in the Duel round, and de Vries recorded a better time between the two.
