Enlivening The Competition For The 2025 President's Cup, Oxford United Flying To Indonesia In Early July

JAKARTA - Oxford United is one of two international clubs that will participate in the 2025 President's Cup pre-season tournament. For that agenda, the team from England will depart for Indonesia on July 2, 2025.

"We are pleased to confirm that Oxford United will leave for Indonesia next month (July) to participate in the 2025 Presidential Cup annual tournament," Oxford United wrote in a release quoted from the club's website on Friday, June 20, 2025.

"Departing on July 2, 2025, Gary Rowett's side will appear in a tournament containing six teams, to fight teams from Southeast Asia, including the prestigious opening match against the All Star Indonesian League," Oxford United said.

On the agenda to Indonesia, Oxford United also confirmed to bring two Indonesian national team players, namely Marselino Ferdinand and Ole Romeny.

"With the Indonesian internationals, Marselino Ferdinand and Ole Romeny, in the squad, this tour promises a unique opportunity for the club and important steps in building towards the 2025/2026 Championship season," wrote Oxford United.

The 2025 President's Cup starts rolling on July 6-13, 2025. Apart from Oxford United, there is also Port FC - Thailand's club - which took part.

For local clubs, this agenda will be enlivened by Persib Bandung, Arema FC, and Dewa United. Then there is also the All Star Indonesian League team which is confirmed to participate in the tournament.

The six contestants are divided into two groups each containing three teams. Group A is inhabited by the All Star Indonesian League, Arema FC, and Oxford United. While Group B is inhabited by Persib, Dewa United, and Port FC.

The 2025 President's Cup match will be held in two places, namely Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, and Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta. However, SUGBK will only be used for opening matches.
