Israel's Attempted Assassination Of Iranian Foreign Minister Thwarted By IRGC
JAKARTA - The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) managed to thwart an attempt to kill Israel against Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, a few days ago.
This was conveyed by an adviser to the Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Hossein Ranjbaran, Friday, June 20.
"If only no security measures were taken by the IGRC, an attempted murder would have taken place against Iranian Foreign Minister in Tehran a few days ago. Fortunately, this could have been prevented," Ranjbaran said via social media X.
Since Foreign Minister Araghchi announced that he will depart for Geneva, Switzerland, for a dialogue with the European Union, he admits he has "received many incoming calls to ensure Israel has no plans to kill him".
"Yes, it is true that there is such a threat," said the minister's adviser.
