Lionel Messi's Goal Between Inter Miami Beat Porto 2-1

JAKARTA - Lionel Messi's goal led Inter Miami to beat Porto 2-1 in the FIFA 2025 Club World Cup Group A match at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Friday morning WIB.

In this match, Porto actually took the lead through Samu Aghehowa's penalty, but Inter Miami was able to equalize through Telascon Segovia's goal, FIFA notes reported by Antara.

Thanks to this victory Inter Miami is now in second place in the Club World Cup Group A standings with four points, while Porto is in third place with one point from two matches.

Statistically Inter Miami created more chances through five on target, while possession drew for both teams.

When the game started, Porto took the initiative to attack first and had a golden opportunity to take the lead after getting a penalty kick as Joao Mario was fouled in the box.

Samu Aghehowa, who came forward as the executioner, successfully carried out his duties well after his shot could not be stopped by Inter Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari so the score changed to 1-0 in the eighth minute.

Towards the end of the first half, Porto had a chance to double the lead through Alan Varela's shot, but his shot was still narrowly sideways from the net.

Entering the second half, it was Inter Miami's turn to take the initiative to attack first and be able to equalize in the 47th minute after Marcelo Weigandt's through ball was converted into a goal by Telasco Segovia so that the score returned to 1-1.

Inter Miami then turned things around in the 54th minute after a free kick from Lionel Messi hit the right corner of the goal from Porto so the score turned 2-1.

In the remaining time of the match, Porto tried at least to equalize, but until the game was over, the score 2-1 for Inter Miami's win remained.
