This move is part of Meta's aggressive strategy in strengthening its position amid intense competition in the AI industry. Last week, Meta announced an investment of US$14.8 billion (around Rp240 trillion) into the second largest AI Scale' investment in the company's history. Not only that, the CEO of Scale AI, Alexandr Wang, has also been recruited to lead a new unit called Super Intelligence in Meta.
For information, Nat Friedman is currently a member of the Meta Advisory Group, an external advisory board formed by Meta to provide strategic input in the development of the company's technology and products.
With the recruitment of influential figures in the technology industry, Meta does not seem to want to lose in the artificial intelligence dominance competition which is now the main focus of world big technology companies.
