Task Force Must Block 507 Illegal Financial Activities And Entities

JAKARTA - The Task Force for the Eradication of Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) has again blocked 507 illegal financial activities and entities that have the potential to harm the community and violate the provisions.

The Secretariat of the Illegal Financial Activity Eradication Task Force, Hudiyanto, said that out of a total of 507 blocking, there were 427 illegal online loan entities on a number of sites and applications as well as 6 private loan offers (pinpri).

Then, 74 illegal investment offers related to fraud made by individuals using the mode of imitating or duplicating the names of products, sites, and social media belonging to licensed entities with the aim of committing fraud (imperfection), half-time job offering fraud, and fraudulent offers of various forms of investment.

According to him, efforts to handle illegal financial activities and entities carried out by the PASTI Task Force are further strengthened through coordination carried out with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) which began to join the DEFINITE Task Force since early 2025.

"Currently, the implementation of cyber patrols for the PASTI Task Force is supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, the Indonesian National Police, and BSSN," he explained in his statement, Thursday, June 19.

Hudiyanto explained that in connection with the above developments, from 2017 to May 31, 2025, the DEFINITE Task Force had suspended 13,228 illegal financial entities consisting of 11,166 illegal/principal online loan entities, 1,811 illegal investment entities, and 251 illegal pawning entities.

Meanwhile, in order to increase efforts to protect consumers and the public in the financial sector, from the beginning of operating from November 22, 2024 to May 31, 2025, Indonesia Anti-Scam Center (IASC) has received 135,397 fraud reports.

He explained that the total number of fraud-related accounts reported to IASC was 219,168, of which 49,316 (225 percent) of these accounts had been blocked.

The total loss of funds reported by victims of fraud amounted to Rp2.6 trillion with funds that have been successfully blocked amounting to Rp163.3 billion (6.28 percent).

He said that the PASTI Task Force also found a collection party's WhatsApp number (debt collector) related to illegal online loans reported to have made threats, intimidation and other actions that were contrary to the provisions.

"The Task Force MUST monitor the fraud report at the IASC and find as many as 22,993 phone numbers reported by victims of fraud. Following up on this, the DEFINITE Task Force has coordinated with the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs to block the number in question," he said.

According to him, blocking efforts will continue to be carried out by the PASTI Task Force to suppress the ecosystem from illegal financial activities and entities that are still troubling the public.

He conveyed that by paying attention to the increasing and trend of fraudulent reports to IASC, the PASTI Task Force again appealed to the public to increase vigilance and not to be careless about the various modes of fraud that are increasingly occurring, especially those related to digital fraud (via digital media such as whatsapp, Instagram, telegram, tik-tok, SMS, email, and website).

"The use of artificial intelligence (AI) for fraud is also increasing, thereby increasing the risk of losses for the community," he said.

Hudiyanto explained that from observations made by IASC, it was found that the loss of funds for victims of fraud was relatively fast, so the speed of submitting the victim's report to IASC was highly expected.

According to him, this is needed as one of the efforts to save the remaining victims' funds.

In general, fraudsters will take advantage of the negligence of potential victims associated with the conditions of each person, as follows:

Hudiyanto said that the PASTI Task Force appealed to people who were victims of fraud to be able to immediately submit reports through the IASC website with the address http://iasc.ojk.go.id by attaching data and related evidence documents.

According to him, by observing the development of crypto investment fraud which is also increasingly rampant, the PASTI Task Force urges the public to be more alert to crypto asset trading offers so as not to become victims of crypto asset trading offers that are not included in the Crypto Asset List (DAK) set by the Digital Financial Asset Exchange.

"The PASTI Task Force confirms that crypto asset trading activities can only be carried out by parties who have been registered and have an official permit from the OJK. Based on the provisions in OJK Regulation Number 27 of 2024, it is stipulated that the Crypto Asset List is determined by the Crypto Exchange," he said.

Hudiyanto said that recently there have been more and more illegal entities that offer crypto asset investment through social media, conversation groups, or websites without official authorization.

He explained that the mode used generally promises fixed profits, multiple bonuses, and the lure of passing income without risk.

The Task Force MUST ask the public to understand the following things before investing in crypto assets:

he appealed to people who find information or offers of investment and online loans that are suspicious or suspected of being illegal or provide lure of high yields/interest (illogical) to report them to OJK contacts with telephone numbers 157, WA (081 157 157 157), email: consumers @ojk.go.id or email: task force sure@ojk.go.id.
