DKI Provincial Government Holds Peak Night Of Jakarta's 498th Anniversary At Banteng Field

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held the peak night of celebrating the 498th anniversary of Jakarta at Taman Lapangan Banteng on Sunday, June 22. The night of the DKI Jakarta Anniversary celebration will be held at 17.00-23.00 WIB.

The Chief Executive of the 498th Anniversary Series of Jakarta City Suharini Eliawati explained that this event will present a colossal performance that is thick with Betawi culture.

In addition, there are also music performances, and conveying hope from leaders and citizens in welcoming the age of five centuries in Jakarta.

"This is in line with the theme of celebrating Jakarta's 498th Anniversary, namely Jakarta, Global City and Culture. We want to show that Jakarta is able to hold international standard events while maintaining and strengthening its cultural identity," Suharini told reporters, Thursday, June 19.

Then, the peak night of Jakarta's anniversary also displays Betawi arts and culture, such as ondel-ondel processions, tanjidors, tambourines, doorstops, and the appearance of Abang None Jakarta.

"Let's come with family and relatives to celebrate Jakarta's anniversary at Lapangan Banteng Park. We welcome the age of five centuries in Jakarta with optimism that this city will continue to grow, progress, and be on par with global cities in the world," he explained.
