Huawei Mate XT 2 Appears Tougher With UFG Glass Technology

JAKARTA - Huawei is reportedly preparing a new generation of its innovative foldable smartphone, Mate XT 2, which will come with a significant increase in screen resistance, thanks to the use of UFG (Ultra-Flexible Glass) advanced glass technology.

This information was leaked by a popular tipter on Weibo, Fixed Focus Digital, who said that the Huawei Mate XT 2 will use the same UFG glass as used in the Samsung W25 luxury version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 which is only available on the Chinese market.

Unlike UTG (Ultra-Thin Glass) which is commonly used in most foldable phones today, UFG glass offers better protection against physical folds and pressures, thereby increasing overall screen resistance.

Samsung has been getting UFG glass panels from Schott, a German glass specialist. However, recent rumors suggest that there are now new challengers from China who are ready to compete in providing advanced glass technology for foldable devices, according to a Notebookcheck report.

This month also news circulated that the Huawei Mate XT 2 will debut in China in the second half of 2025, along with the launch of the Huawei Mate X7.

Although not many official details have been revealed, it is estimated that Mate XT 2 will be equipped with the Kirin 9020 chipset, namely the processor which is also used in the Huawei Pura 80 series.
