Minister Agus Sits All About It, Leasehan Has Lunch With Semarang Prison Prisoners
JAKARTA - Minister of Immigration and Correction Agus Andrianto had lunch with hundreds of inmates in Semarang Prison, Central Java, Wednesday, June 18.
Minister Agus sat sila lesehan on the floor of the Joglo Ageng hall which is usually used for visits by prisoners and their families.
Before starting lunch, Agus invited the inmates to provide input on the condition of the Semarang Prison.
Several inmates conveyed the conditions and legal cases that ensnared him and brought him into prison.
The Minister asked the inmates to take lessons from his sentence.
According to him, efforts to help prisoners with the death penalty or life imprisonment were also prepared after the implementation of the new Criminal Code in 2026.
"Please later those who are sentenced to death or for life apply for a PK after the implementation of the new Criminal Code," he said.

He said that prisoners with the death penalty and life could collectively apply for PK.
Through the application for PK, he said, it is hoped that it can be decided on other types of punishment, such as the sentence of 20 years in prison.
On that occasion, Minister Agus also asked the inmates to actualize themselves through works that can be done in prisons.
"Hopefully there can be income, it can provide benefits. Good cooperation will produce something that," he added.
Meanwhile, through this joint lunch, Minister Agus hopes that he will be able to be healthy and support the inmates in carrying out their activities.
