Police Forms State Revenue Task Force, Sri Mulyani Reveals This Is A Positive Step

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati opened her voice regarding the establishment of a Special Task Force (Satgassus) to optimize State Revenue initiated by the Indonesian National Police.

He emphasized that the existence of the Task Force, which is now a public concern, is not new, because the task force was formed several years ago, and even he was present at his inaugural launch.

"That's actually been from the last few years, because I was one of those invited at the time of the first launch and this may be strengthened again," he said at a press conference, Tuesday, June 17.

Sri Mulyani welcomed the existence of this Task Force because it was considered a positive step in strengthening state revenue, which is an important pillar in maintaining the health of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

"Of course it is a positive thing to continue to support because our healthy state budget must be supported by strong state revenues," he explained.

Di sisi lain, Direktur Jenderal Pajak Bimo Wijayanto menyampaikan bahwa pihaknya telah menjalin koordinasi dengan tim Satgassus.

Bimo added that his staff had held a meeting with all team members, except Novel Baswedan, in order to build synergies to support efforts to optimize state revenues.

"So yesterday afternoon we discussed that we invited the full team task force except for Mr. Novel to our office and we are committed to coordinating and synergizing in particular to secure state revenues both in terms of prevention and in terms of prosecution," he explained.
