Officially, The Government Cancels The Implementation Of Excise On Sweetened Drinks In 2025
The government ensures that excise duty on packaged sweetened drinks (MBDK) will not be enforced in 2025.
The Director General of Customs and Excise at the Ministry of Finance, Djaka Budhi Utama, confirmed that the excise duty on packaged sweetened drinks will not apply in 2025.
"Regarding the implementation of the MBDK, until now, until the 2025 plan will not be implemented temporarily. Maybe, in the future it will probably be implemented," he said at a press conference on the KiTa State Budget, Tuesday, June 17.
Although he did not explain in detail the reasons for delaying the implementation of the excise, Djaka emphasized that this policy would not apply this year.
In addition, Djaka stated that to cover the lack of revenue due to the absence of excise on packaged sweetened drinks that had previously been listed in the 2025 State Budget, his party would optimize revenues from other sectors.
