Trump's 'Made In USA' Phone Turns Out To Be Made In China, The Price Is 3 Times Original!
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, made a new breakthrough in the world of technology by launching a telecommunications service titled Trump Mobile. The service was officially introduced on June 15, coinciding with a decade-long anniversary since Trump first ran for president in 2015.
Trump Mobile comes with the patriotic slogan "America First Wireless" and introduces a smartphone called T1, which is claimed to be designed and produced in the United States. However, investigations from a number of technology media prove that the phone is not made in the US, but rather the results of rebranding from Chinese-made middle class phones, to be precise T-Mobile REVL 7 Pro 5G.
The T1 device appears to have only experienced a slight change in cosmetics with gold casings and Trump logos but was sold at a fantastic price, which was US$499 (Rp8.1 million), whereas the original version was only around US$180 (Rp2.9 million) in the market. Most of the components are produced in China, including AMOLED screens, cameras, processors, and security sensors.
Ironically, although Trump has been known to vocally criticize America's dependence on China, the phones he markets under his name rely fully on supply and manufacturing chains from the country. The manufacturer, Wingtech, is a Chinese company that also assembles devices for brands like Xiaomi and OnePlus.
Trump Mobile's 'made in USA' label is considered misleading, because it does not meet the strict criteria from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regarding products that are actually produced in the US.
Trump Mobile also launched a major subscription package called 47 Plan', referring to Trump's status as 47th president. This package offers call and data services indefinitely at a price of 47.45 US dollars per month, as well as roadside assistance service bonuses and online health consultations.

However, this service actually uses networks from large operators such as Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, making Trump Mobile only a network tenant or MVP (Mobile Virtual Network Operator).
Additional important notes: T1 phones do not support eSIM technology, so users of the latest iPhones that only support eSIM cannot directly use Trump Mobile services without additional tools.
This launch drew mixed reactions. Trump's supporters welcomed it as a symbolic move to 'rest' the control of the technology industry from global influence. However, independent observers call this product more of a political and business maneuver with fake nationalism frills.
Trump Mobile is now in the spotlight not only because of his relationship with President Trump, but also because of being a real example of the paradox between political rhetoric and global industrial reality.
