Manchester United Opens Negotiations To Sign Hugo Ekitike

JAKARTA - Manchester United have held an assessment talk with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.

According to ESPN, the negotiations were carried out because the Red Devils were expanding their search for attacking line reinforcements.

Manchester United have lost Liam Delap, who has joined Chelsea from Ipswich Town. Meanwhile, Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has indicated that he prefers to move to Premier League rivals Arsenal.

Now, the door is open to Ekitike. He has scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt last season.

The problem is, the 22-year-old is also being monitored by Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

According to several sources compiled by ESPN, Manchester United had gathered information about the French player before the possible offer. Frankfurt realized their interest.

Despite Ekitike, Manchester United are also still in talks with Brentford for Cameroon's play, Bryan Mbeumo.

Tottenham has also been linked with Mbeumo, after Brentford coach Thomas Frank was persuaded to leave the club to replace Ange Postecoglou.

However, Mbeumo is reportedly more likely to move to Old Trafford, but the costs have not been agreed.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is eager to add more players with high goal instincts to his squad this summer, after his team struggled to score last season's goal.

They scored only 44 goals in the league with only Everton and three relegated clubs -outhampton, Leicester, and Ipswich - scoring fewer goals.

Previously, Manchester United had signed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers for 62.5 million pounds. However, Amorim wants to add at least one more striker.
