Vidi Aldiano's Attorney Calls Keenan Nasution And Rudi Pekerti's Lawsuits Unfounded

JAKARTA - Yakup Hasibuan as one of Vidi Aldiano's legal team finally opened his voice regarding the lawsuits against Keenan Nasution and Rudi Pekerti at the Central Jakarta Commercial Court.

After Vidi officially appointed a attorney last week, Yakup said the team working had studied the lawsuit, and came to the conclusion that the lawsuit was baseless.

"Of course we respect the individual rights of every citizen to apply for their legal rights through a civil lawsuit, but we also need to convey our view that their lawsuit is unfounded," Yakup told the media crew in Senayan, Central Jakarta recently.

Given that the trial has just entered the early stages of legality examination, Yakup is not yet willing to provide details of his team's response to the lawsuit. However, he confirmed that all points would be presented in front of the trial.

"And later we will convey and prove it in court of course. For now we can't be too detailed, because we respect the ongoing process," he said.

For information, Vidi, who is still silent, has appointed 15 attorneys to face the lawsuit against Keenan Nasution and Rudi Pekerti.

The 35-year-old singer was sued for using the song Nuance Bening without the creator's permission in 31 commercial performances.

Vidi was sued by Keenan and Rudi to pay compensation of Rp. 24.5 billion.

Meanwhile, Keenan and Rudi's lawsuit was acknowledged by their attorney, Minola Sebayang, similar to Ari Bias' lawsuit against Agnez Mo.

The Commercial Court found Agnez Mo guilty and paid compensation of Rp1.5 billion for performing the song Bilang Saja without permission at three commercial shows.

Currently, the legal case between Ari Bias and Agnez Mo is entering the cassation stage at the Supreme Court.
