Iranian Foreign Minister: Attack On Government Television Station Puncak Israel's Manpower Action

JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called Israel's attack on Iranian broadcasters, which killed one employee, the culmination of a coward's actions.

"The attack on our national broadcast organization shows real hopelessness from Israel," Abbas Aragghchi said in an interview broadcast by IRNA as reported by CNN, Tuesday, June 17.

"When they fail on the battlefield, they use a way of targeting and attacking civilian centers that only convey the truth and provide information," continued Araghchi.

Israel attacked the Iranian state television channel studio building, IRINN, on Monday, disrupting a live broadcast by host Sahar Imani.

An employee was killed in the attack, said the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), which manages IRINN.

There was a fire that burned the IRIB building after the attack, but the fire was extinguished, according to government-affiliated Nour News.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed its air force is targeting communication centers used for military purposes by the Iranian Armed Forces.

The IDF said it provided an effective early warning to civilians ahead of the attack.
