BMKG Weather Forecast: Rain Hits Most Of Indonesia Today
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in a number of major cities in Indonesia, Tuesday, June 17, will generally rain.
"On the island of Java, light to moderate rain has the potential to be in Serang, Jakarta, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. Meanwhile, Bandung has the potential for heavy rain accompanied by lightning," said BMKG forecaster Sekar Anggraeni in a weather forecast broadcast in Jakarta.
As for the Sumatra region, areas that have the potential to receive light rain are Medan, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, and Palembang. Aceh has the potential to be cloudy.
Meanwhile, Padang, Jambi, Bengkulu, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandar Lampung have the potential to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning.
"For Denpasar, Kupang, and Mataram cities, it is predicted to be cloudy," he said.
Furthermore, he said, on the island of Kalimantan, heavy rains accompanied by lightning are Tanjung Selor. Meanwhile, Pontianak, Samarinda, Palangkaraya, and Banjarmasin are forecasted for light rain.
Moving to the Sulawesi area, he continued, Palu, Mamuju, Gorontalo, and Kendari are predicted to experience light to moderate rain. Thunderstorms and thick clouds of Makassar.
