Israel Serang Studio Televisi Pemerintah Iran

JAKARTA - The Israeli military confirmed the attack on Iran's state television channel studio, IRINN, on Monday.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said its air force carried out targeted attacks based on intelligence information provided by the Intelligence Directorate, targeting communication centers used for military purposes by the Iranian Armed Forces.

"The building was used by the Iranian Armed Forces under the guise of civilian activity, covering up military use of the central infrastructure and assets. The attack directly undermined the military capabilities of the Iranian Armed Forces," the IDF said in a statement reported by CNN, Monday, June 16.

Confirmation of the attack came after the explosion disrupted a live broadcast by the host Sahar Imani.

"Before the attack, the IDF gave an effective early warning to civilians, including phone calls, and carried out attacks in the right way to reduce losses to civilians as far as possible," the IDF said.

Earlier on Monday, the IDF issued an evacuation order in Tehran's 3rd District, where the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting is based. IRINN is part of IRIB.

In a post in Persian on X, the IDF said it would take action in the district in the coming hours to attack the military infrastructure of the Iranian regime.

Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, also confirmed the military attacked the studio.

"The broadcast authority of propaganda and incitement of the Iranian regime was attacked by the IDF after a massive evacuation in the surrounding area. We will attack Iranian dictators everywhere," Katz said in X.
