Head Of Criminal Investigation Unit In NTT Involved In Cockfighting Gambling, Deactivated-Dipatsus

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the North Mollo Police, South Central Timor (TTS) Aiptu Firmansyah was released from his position and placed in a special place (pass), after being found to be involved in the practice of cockfighting gambling in the TTS Regency area.

"We have ordered internal investigators, in this case the TTS Police Propam, to conduct further investigations against these members," said South Central Timor Police Chief (TTS) AKBP Sigit Harimbawan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 17.

From the results of the examination, it was found that the person concerned was found guilty and involved in the practice of gambling.

He explained that several disciplinary sanctions in accordance with government regulations (PP No.02 of 2023) regarding the discipline of Polri members had been given and were cumulative, such as through a written warning.

Then also, postponement of participating in education postponement of periodic salary increases, postponement of promotion, demotion mutations, release from office, and placement in special places or Patsus.

"Therefore, if members who are found guilty of violating discipline by playing gambling, his party will not hesitate to impose disciplinary penalties or a code of ethics on members who violate, let alone try to play gambling," he said.

The Sigit Police Chief also emphasized that he would not protect members who violate the law and tarnish the good name of the National Police institution.

"If you are guilty, you still have to be dealt with firmly by being given sanctions, the goal is that people feel that there is no blunt legal play up sharply downwards. All people must receive the same legal treatment, no selective logging, either members of the National Police or the community, if proven to be processed according to applicable legal procedures," he said.
