ID FOOD Food Supply For Red And White Village Cooperatives

JAKARTA - Food SOE Holding ID FOOD is also involved and fully supports the running of the Red and White Village Cooperative. This is the company's effort to support national food security and village economic empowerment.

ID FOOD President Director Ghimoyo said ID FOOD's participation in this strategic program was marked by the signing of a strategic food supply provision Cooperation (PKS) in the form of sugar, rice, cooking oil, and other commodities for operational needs and distribution of the Red and White Cooperative.

"This is a form of synergy between SOEs and cooperatives in strengthening food supply chains from upstream to downstream, while ensuring the availability and affordability of food at the village/kelurahan level," he said while attending the launch of the Pilot Red and White Village Cooperative in Sukodadi Village, Palembang, South Sumatra, Monday, June 16.

In its implementation, ID FOOD through its branch network and distribution offices spread from Aceh to Papua will distribute food commodities to a number of distribution points for Cooperatives.

Ghimoyo said that the launch of the Red and White Village Cooperative in South Sumatra was an early stage, where ID FOOD had started supplying 5 tons of white crystal sugar, 5 tons of cooking oil, 5 tons of rice, 2 tons of flour, and 2 tons of sago.

"In the future, the volume and distribution points will continue to be increased along with the increase in the location of the Cooperatives. With the direct supply of food holdings, we want to bring quality food access closer to affordable prices for the community, as well as encourage the growth of the local economy through cooperatives as a distribution node," he said.

According to Ghimoyo, in supporting this program ID FOOD involves the subsidiaries and grandchildren of companies engaged in the trade and logistics sectors, such as PT Rajawali Nusindo, PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia, PT GIEB Indonesia, and BGR Logistik Indonesia.

This food distribution is also supported by the food stall e-commerce platform which has been developed since 2020. With this platform, cooperatives can order anytime and anywhere online," he explained.

To ensure the service level is maintained, Ghimoyo said, currently ID FOOD has 1,075 warehouses with a capacity of 2.4 million tons spread across the province. In addition, the company is also supported by 900 logistics fleets.

"The ID FOOD trade and logistics business lines have also collaborated with port port port and warehousing infrastructure with Pelindo and established cold chain cooperation with the Indonesian Cold Chain Association (ARPI)," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan emphasized that the Red and White Village Cooperative, which is a big idea, has now begun to be seen running according to President Prabowo Subianto's vision.

According to him, the Red and White Kopdes is a form of the government's alignment with the economy of the people in villages and sub-districts.
