Lamban Tangani Dugaan Investasi Bodong, Polres Metro Jakbar Didemo
JAKARTA - Dozens of people held demonstrations at the West Jakarta Metro Police, Monday (16/6), urging legal certainty regarding fraudulent investments.
Lawyer Dr Hendricus Sidabutar said his client Eddi Halim was the victim of 11 % investment lure in 2023. Eddi was offered an 11% profit for the investment development of Trihita Alam Eco School Jakarta by the alleged perpetrators with the initials MHS and NT, with the promise to return investment capital plus an investment profit of 11% (one) year later.
"Eddi Halim was tempted because the investment in profits exceeded the deposit interest set by Bank Indonesia, until Eddi finally deposited his investment funds with a total value of IDR 2.2 billion," he said at the West Jakarta Metro Police, Monday (16/6/2025).
The investment fund was requested by the alleged perpetrators with the initials MHS and NT who promised to be returned 1 year later with interest and capital. However, in fact, 1 year later in 2024 June 2004, no profit was made. It is even suspected that some of it was misused which was intended for hospital fees, to go on the road to Rotterdam and to Finland.
One year later, he continued, Eddi also demanded the lure of the promise in June 2024. Instead of getting a profit, the victim's capital was not returned in the amount of IDR 2.2 billion. Even Eddi's number has been blocked by the alleged perpetrators MHS and NT.
Furthermore, as a victim, Eddi reported the alleged perpetrator on suspicion of fraud and embezzlement to the West Jakarta Police based on criminal reports No: STTLP / 947 / B / VII / 2024 / SPKT / West Jakarta Police / Polda Metro Jaya, dated August 8, 2024, which is currently being handled by Tahbang Unit 1 of the West Jakarta Metro Police.
"The victim can only talk nonsense by the alleged perpetrator and investment in profit of 11%/year which is a real lie. Once again, what is fraudulent is profit investment," said Hendricus.
According to him, this case was stopped by the West Jakarta Police in November 2024 by police officers and then reopened after holding a special case.

Currently, the alleged perpetrators with the initials MHS and NT are still on the loose and have not been named suspects and detained.
"In comparison, many fraudulent investment actors in Indonesia were arrested and detained, even brought to court and sentenced. But the question is, why in this case the alleged perpetrator has not been named a suspect and arrested?" asked the lawyer Dr. Hendricus Sidabutar.
As a lawyer, he and his colleagues also asked the police for firm action on legal certainty against the suspect. Moreover, he has provided complete evidence related to allegations of fraud, embezzlement and alleged money laundering have been submitted to the authorities.
"So more than 2 pieces of evidence have become the media. So we demand legal certainty and firmness from the West Jakarta Metro Police Chief so that the alleged perpetrators are dealt with firmly," he explained.
Unfortunately, he continued, until today let alone strict action, this case has been stopped by the West Jakarta Metro Police and the victim did not know at all that the investigation of this case had been stopped. Therefore, the victim objected and filed a special case title and asked to be reopened so that it could be continued.
"The perpetrator has not been named a suspect and detained, making us suspicious, even though we have been given evidence using the WhatsApp (WA) application. This application is not used as digital forensics. Even though all crimes use scientific or forensic studies, our cases are not used at all and even stopped on the grounds that they are not fulfilled," he explained.
"There is no element of criminal act. So we feel strange. We feel something is strange, so we demand justice from the National Police Chief and create legal certainty against the alleged perpetrators of fraudulent investments for 11% profit. Here we will prepare the next steps. Will we report the alleged reports against violations and other legal steps that we will prepare as soon as possible," concluded Hendricus.
