Israeli Defense Minister Clarifies Statement: Intentionless Injuring Iranian Tehran Citizens
JAKARTA - Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, clarified previous statements about the threat of attacks on Tehran's Iranian population. Katz said Israel had no intention of injuring Tehran's residents.
"I want to clarify what should be clear: There is no intention of physically injuring Tehran residents, unlike what the killer dictator (Iran) did to Israelis," Katz said on X.
Earlier, after Iran's attack on Israel killed eight civilians, Katz said Tehran residents "will pay the price, and soon."
In its clarification, Katz said Tehran residents "must pay the price of the dictatorship and flee their homes in areas that will be targeted by regime attacks and security infrastructure in Tehran."
Iran's capital has been bombarded since Israel launched its attacks on the country.
Israel claims to have killed several high-level Iranian military commanders in the attack, but Iranian civilians have also been trapped in the attack.
Reportedly 224 people have died in Iran since hostilities began on Friday, June 13 last week.
