List Of Indonesian Squads For The 2025 Asia Junior Championships

JAKARTA The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) officially released a list of Indonesian squads that will appear in the 2025 Asian Junior Championships or Badminton Asia Junior Championships next month.

This event will be held at GOR Manahan, Solo, Central Java, on 18-27 July 2025. Indonesia has deployed a total of 20 players, a combination of players from Pelatnas PBSI and several clubs.

"Indonesia is eyeing one title in the team sector and one title from the individual sector," said Eng Hian as Head of Development and Achievement Division of PP PBSI in a statement received.

Badminton Asia Junior Championship will be divided into two categories, namely the team category on 18-22 July 2025 and the individual category on 23-27 July 2025.

The mixed team category will use a point 110 (relay) system as has been tried in the World Junior Championships team championship which will take place from September 30 to October 13, 2024 in Nanchang, China.

At that time, Indonesia managed to bring home the Suhandinata Cup title from the mixed team number after defeating the host of China in the final match.

"With the 110 point system, I hope that Indonesia can successfully repeat the title won at WJC last year. As for the individual sector, we have the opportunity to take the title in the men's doubles sector," said Eng Hian.

The twenty athletes who were sent were for mixed team matches with a composition of six single athletes and 14 double athletes.

As for the individual category, Indonesia sent seven representatives for each sector whose composition consisted of mixed team squads coupled with athletes from club representatives.

"To strengthen the solidity of the team, a training camp will be held from July 1, 2025 to departure. As for individuals, junior athletes will train together starting July 18, 2025 at the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center," said Eng Hian.
