BRIN And PSN Develop Phased Array Antenna For National Satellite Signal Receipt
JAKARTA The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) will build a phased array antenna with PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN). This collaboration has been inaugurated by signing a draft Cooperation Agreement (PKS).
The PKS regulates the research process to the development of antennas for PSN satellite needs. That way, BRIN and PSN will partner in the prototype stage of research, field testing, and device development.
Each party who signed this partnership agreement is the Head of the BRIN Telecommunications Research Center, Nasrullah Armi, and the President Director of PT PSN, Adi Rahman Adiwongso. The manuscript was inaugurated at the Indo Defense, Indo Aerospace, and Indo Marine 2025 Expo and Forum events some time ago.
BRIN revealed that they had several discussions with PSN before inaugurating this agreement. After involving the Telecommunications Research Team and Center, BRIN finally agreed to develop the antenna.
It is hoped that this technology can encourage the progress of the space sector in Indonesia, especially in using satellites. In addition to encouraging national needs, this phased array antenna is expected to compete globally.

"Hopefully, next we can collaborate in other fields, especially our contribution to the national telecommunications industry," BRIN said, quoted from its official website on Monday, June 16.
Thephased array antenna is the latest generation antenna built for satellite communication needs at Earth stations. This antenna consists of a system containing many antenna elements.
This series of elements works together to produce an electronically directed radiation pattern. The antenna does not need to be physically driven because its direction can be done by changing the signal phase of each antenna element.
