Locked In The Middle Of The Night, Elderly In Agam Lost Gold And Billions Of Rupiah

AGAM - A robbery accompanied by confinement took place in a house in Jorong Galudau, Ampek Koto District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, early Sunday morning.

The victim, an elderly man named Marwis (65), reported the incident to the Bukittinggi Police after experiencing losses of up to IDR 1.5 billion.

Bukittinggi Police Chief Kombes Yessi Kurniati confirmed the report of the alleged robbery that occurred at around 02.00 WIB. At that time, Marwis was at home with his wife and in-laws.

After stealing the goods, the three perpetrators locked all the occupants of the house in one of the rooms.

"One hour after the perpetrator left, I managed to open the bedroom door and went straight to the police station to report it," said Marwis.

Ampek Koto Police Chief AKP Fitrianto said, after receiving the report, the team immediately went to the scene to conduct a crime scene investigation (TKP) and examine witness statements.

"We are still conducting further investigations. There are strong indications that the perpetrator used violence and equipment to damage the door," said Fitrianto.

From observations at the location, traces of damage to the entrance, as well as a number of tools allegedly used by the perpetrators to demolish the house.

Meanwhile, the condition of the house seemed to be a mess due to the actions of the perpetrators who were suspected of planning the robbery carefully.
