Yemeni Citizens Deported From Indonesia After Being Entangled In Drug Cases

JAKARTA A Yemeni citizen with the initials FSA was officially deported by the Class I Special Immigration Office for Non-TPI South Jakarta through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang City, on Tuesday, June 11, 2025.

"It is true, FSA, which is a Yemeni citizen, has been deported through Soetta Airport," said Head of Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement at the South Jakarta Immigration Office, Prihatno Juniardi, in his statement, Sunday, June 15.

FSA was previously arrested by the police for drug abuse cases in the Bali area. He then underwent a legal process and was found guilty through a court decision.

During his criminal term, FSA was transferred to the South Jakarta Correctional Center (Bapas). According to Prihatno, while at the Fathers, FSA showed good behavior and finally received parole.

"FSA received parole and transferred to the South Jakarta Immigration Office for further processing, namely deportation," he explained.

Prihatno added that FSA's passport was known to have expired. In addition, his residence permit in Indonesia is also no longer valid. This is in accordance with the provisions of Article 48 paragraph 5 of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration, which states that foreigners who serve imprisonment are not required to have a residence permit during their sentence. In fact, if the residence permit has expired.

Based on this, the name FSA is also included in the deterrence list, which makes it unable to return to Indonesia for an indefinite time.
