Temperature In Makkah Reaches 46 Degrees Celsius, PPIH Asks Hajj Pilgrims Not To Force Themselves To Worship Sunnah

JAKARTA - Hajj Organizing Officers (PPIH) appealed to pilgrims to always maintain health and limit physical activity ahead of their return to Indonesia, considering that extreme temperatures (hot) in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, still reach 46 degrees Celsius.

"The weather during the day in Makkah still reaches 46 degrees Celsius. We urge the congregation not to force themselves to worship sunnah, especially the sunnah umrah repeatedly," said Deputy Technical Controller for Hajj Media Center (MCH) Akhmad Fauzin at a press conference in Makkah, Saturday, June 15, confiscated by Antara.

Fauzin reminded that excessive physical activity in the midst of extreme temperatures can have a negative impact on health conditions, especially for the elderly, high risk, or those who have just recovered from fatigue after the peak of the pilgrimage.

Therefore, he recommended that the congregation be wiser in regulating the time of worship, including when they were going to carry out the Wada Tawaf or the last worship before leaving the holy land.

"It is better to choose a cooler time like the morning after dawn or at night. Congregations are also advised not to travel alone and stay with the group for safety," he said.

In addition to the health aspect, PPIH also reminded pilgrims who use Passport Travel Letters (SPLP) to immediately report to officers when they arrive at Jeddah or Medina airport.

"This reporting process is important so that officers can help ratify the SPLP to the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj. This is necessary so that the immigration process runs smoothly," said Fauzin.

Today, as many as 19 flying groups (clusters) are scheduled to return to Indonesia from various embarkations, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar, Solo, Medan, and others. The repatriation is carried out in stages through two airports, namely King Abdul Aziz in Jeddah and Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz in Medina.

"The journey home takes quite a long time, so maintaining body fitness is very important. Avoid fatigue, get enough fluid intake, and pay attention to the officer's advice," he said.

Fauzin also expressed his prayers and hopes that all pilgrims return to the country in good health and safety. He also invited the families of pilgrims in Indonesia to actively spread the correct information and help make the congregation's repatriation phase a success.

"Hopefully all pilgrims get a good Hajj and can be role models in their respective environments," said Fauzin.
