Bus Driver Caused Deadly Accident Kills 15 Malaysian Students Confess Innocent
The accused bus driver involved in the accident killed 15 Universiti Pendidikan students Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia who pleaded not guilty.
The confession was stated by the defendant Mohd Amirul Fadhil Zulkifle, 39, during a trial related to this case at the Ethics Court, Friday, June 13.
Citing Bernama, Mimggu June 15, this bus driver was charged with driving in a dangerous manner that caused death.
He was charged under Article 41(1) of the 1987 Road Transport Act (UU 333) for causing death from driving in a dangerous manner, which if found guilty, could be sentenced to five to ten years in prison, fines up to RM50,000, and disqualification from holding or obtaining a license for a minimum of five years.

The additional indictment is based on Article 42(1) of the same law for reckless and dangerous driving, which regulates imprisonment of up to five years, a minimum fine of RM5,000 or both, and a revocation of a driving license for a period of no less than five years.
The court provided a guarantee of RM19,000 for all charges, with two guarantors, and ordered the defendant to report every week to the nearest police station. His driver's license was suspended pending the settlement of the case.
The panel of judges then determined that the follow-up trial would be held again on July 14.
