MenPPPA Visits Victims Of Violence Found In Kebayoran Lama

JAKARTA - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi visited a child with the initials M (7) who is currently undergoing intensive treatment at the Police Hospital, Jakarta.

"We saw firsthand the condition of the victim. It was hard to imagine that a child of that age experienced this kind of violence. The child is currently being treated intensively in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The condition of the victim is very concerning. We will make sure the victim is treated, recovered, and the perpetrators of violence are dealt with firmly," said Minister Arifah Fauzi in Jakarta, Saturday.

The child was previously found by residents in an alarming condition at the Kebayoran Lama Market, allegedly a victim of violence by his parents.

Arifah Fauzi said KemenPPPA will continue to coordinate with the National Police Hospital, investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, and UPTD PPA DKI Jakarta to ensure that children get medical services and psychological recovery in a sustainable manner.

"The police team and KemenPPPA will continue to coordinate to find the victim's family and ensure that the perpetrator who has the heart to commit this heinous act is immediately arrested. Meanwhile, the victim will continue to receive intensive care and psychological assistance to restore his physical and mental condition. Currently, the victim has not been able to provide clear information because he is still in the process of physical recovery," said Arifatul Choiri Fauzi.

This child weighs only 11 kg at the age of 7, a smaller head size, and is not symmetric when compared to children his age.

Based on a medical examination, M suffered various serious injuries.

There are wounds or holes on the chin and fractures that stand out from the right side of the shoulder.

In addition, burns were found all over his face and ears.
