JAKARTA - The ranking of the Indonesian Women's Volleyball national team rose 10 levels after winning fifth place in the AVC Nations Cup 2025.

Now, Garuda Pertiwi is ranked 48th in the FIVB (World Volleyball Federation) ranking ranking from previously on the 58th ladder.

Assistant coach of the Indonesian Women's Volleyball National Team, Dony Adhuka, is grateful that the team's ranking has increased.

"I say thank you to the team, they did a very good job. Thank God, our current ranking has increased because of good teamwork from day to day," said Dony Adhitata quoted from the official AVC Nations Cup 2025 website, on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

With approximately two weeks of preparation, Indonesia was quite difficult at the start of the tournament by swallowing three consecutive defeats in the group stage.

They lost to Iran (2-3), the Philippines (1-3), and Kazakhstan (0-3). However, with high confidence Yolla Yuliana and her friends were able to answer the challenges by winning after winning the next match.

They managed to beat Mongolia (3-0) and New Zealand (3-0) in the group stage. Then, Indonesia managed to beat Hong Kong (3-1) in the 5-8 race.

Most recently, the Indonesian Women's Volleyball National Team locked the fifth place in the AVC Nations Cup 2025 after beating Iran 3-1 (25-17, 25-15, 23-25, and 25-20) at Dong Anh Gymnasium, Hanoi, Vietnam, Saturday, June 14, 2025, afternoon WIB.

Dony Adhuka admitted that this result was very good to be achieved with the preparations undertaken for approximately two weeks.

"Alhamdulillah, we were able to get a team composition in the middle of the tournament and made us appear so confident."

"Previously, we only made preparations for two weeks. The reason is, there is Proliga, but with this result it is very good," said Dony Adhuka.

With this result, it is also a valuable asset for Indonesia to look at one of the other championships, namely the 2025 SEA V League and Thailand 2025 SEA Games.
