Paul Pogba In Talks With Monaco Before Returning To Action

JAKARTA - Paul Pogba has almost ended his two-year absence from the world of football after opening talks with AS Monaco over an agreement with the Ligue 1 team.

Pogba, a member of the French National Team that won the 2018 World Cup, has not played competitive football since being sentenced to a four-year ban by the Italian anti-doping court in September 2023 due to positive test results for high testosterone levels.

Although Pogba's ban was reduced to 18 months through an appeal in October 2024, the former Manchester United midfielder's contract with Juventus was canceled in a joint agreement in November 2024.

The player has not played since leaving the Serie A club. However, according to ESPN reports, the 32-year-old is currently in further talks with Monaco regarding his move as a free agent to the French team.

This news was first reported by Fabrizio Romano.

In addition, Pogba has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Arabian Pro League team and teams competing in the 2025 Club World Cup.

However, discussions with Monaco went well and the player is expected to complete a move and return to football club in France for the first time since leaving Le Havre to play at Manchester United at 16 in 2009.
