Ambon Basarnas Help Save The Crew Of The Marshall Islands Ship In Aru Waters
The Marshall Islands Republic-flagged cargo ship asked Basarnas for help to evacuate John Agustin Roa Zayco (48). He is a Filipino crew member of the cargo ship MV Yasa Uranus with the callsign V7A6174.
"Basarnas Ambon, who received this information directly from Capt Irfan Erturk as the captain of MV Yasa Uranus on June 13, 2025 at around 18.00 WIT, acted quickly to coordinate further with the captain regarding the SAR aid for the evacuation," said Head of the Ambon Basarnas Search and Rescue Office (KPP) Muhamad Arafah in Ambon, Maluku, quoting ANTARA on Saturday, June 14.
After agreeing with the intercept coordinate points around the waters of the Aru Islands, Maluku, with the estimated MV Yasa Uranus arriving at the intercept site estimated Saturday (14/6) at around 01:50 WIT in the morning, the evacuation was carried out.
Meanwhile, the Dobo SAR Alert Unit and elements of the potential SAR coordinate with the Cendrawasih Dobo Hospital for medical treatment of victims.
At 00:00 WIT, the joint SAR team was deployed to the intercept point using the UUS Dobo Inflatable Boat (RIB) Rigit with a distance of approximately 30 Nautical Mile (NM) from Dobo Port.
Two hours of travel, at 02:53 WIT the Joint SAR team managed to arrive at the intercept point and succeeded in carrying out medical evacuation measures for victims to be taken to Dobo City for further treatment.

At around 05:15 WIT, the Joint SAR team and the victims managed to arrive at Dobo safely, then the victim was handed over to the medical team for further treatment.
"The cargo ship on the Australian-Hongkong route asked for help from the SAR medivac evacuation yesterday on June 13 at around 18:00 WIT," he said.
According to information from the captain, one of their crew members experienced health problems in the form of difficulty urinating so that they needed quick treatment.
