Tangerang Regency Government Reveals Conditions And Stages For Free Private School Selection

TANGERANG - The Tangerang Regency Government, Banten, revealed the stages of selecting free private schools in its area. There are a number of conditions and stages for the verification process so that the school gets subsidies to free the tuition fee of its students.

Secretary of the Tangerang Regency Education Office, Agus Supriatna in Tangerang, Saturday said that all private schools to be able to free the cost of education must go through several verification processes.

Where the steps, he said, were taken so that every private school that had fulfilled the verification would receive subsidies from the local government.

"First we have to check directly how the learning activities are? How is the school management and how is the quality of education?" Agus quoted ANTARA as saying on Saturday, June 14.

He said, in addition to the verification process, administrative selection and selection of visits or checking the feasibility of schools as a requirement for private schools to be eligible for budget assistance.

"The administrative selection and visibility process has been carried out. However, the results of the new visit will be met, after that it will be recommended to the leadership," he said.

He explained that the selection and visibility process took a long time, because in the process it had to be really thorough and observant as a determination of schools that were suitable for free education.

"This is done to find out or monitor how the teaching and learning activities, school management, and the quality of education at the school," he said.

"So, school visits can help improve the quality of education and raise awareness of the importance of continuous evaluation and improvement," he added.

According to him, all processes or stages of this selection will certainly be completed on time. So, by July 2025, students will be able to experience free schools, in accordance with the mandate of the law and local government programs.

In this case, there are 195 private schools that have registered themselves in the stages of selecting the free school. Where, of the hundreds of schools consist of elementary and junior high schools.

Agus also said that of these 195 private schools, there were 54 elementary schools and 141 private junior high schools spread across all sub-districts in Tangerang Regency.

"There are already 195 private schools that have registered," he said.
