Six Suspects Arrested For Burning Company Facilities In Siak Regency
RIAU - Siak resort police, Riau Province has named six suspects in connection with the burning and destruction of company building and vehicle facilities in Tumang Siak Village that occurred on Wednesday, June 11.
The head of the Siak Police, AKBP Eka Ariandy Putra, said that this determination was the result of an intensive examination of 12 people who were previously arrested after the incident. Of the 12 people who were arrested, 6 were declared suspects.
"That was after finding sufficient evidence for their involvement in the acts of violence, provocation, and destruction that occurred. Meanwhile, six other people were examined as witnesses and have been allowed to go home," he said in Siak, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, June 14.
The six suspects were AS (41), MH (43), LS (50),S (15), HAP (54) and Su (54) who had the most striking role in this incident.
They are suspected of burning the clinic owned by PT. SSL, throwing operational cars, and provoking the masses to set other fires.
The Siak Police Chief emphasized that his party is still investigating this case and it is possible that the number of suspects will increase.

The riots took place at PT SSL, Tumang Village, Siak District on Wednesday (11/6). There were acts of anarchy such as burning facilities, vehicle destruction, and violence against company personnel.
It is known that this action was triggered by land conflicts related to planting acacia trees on land claimed to belong to the community.
Temporary data states that at least 15 vehicles, 3 houses, 15 rooms in mes, and 5 office units were burned down or badly damaged. Two fire engines arrived at the scene to carry out extinguishing efforts.
