The Route To Wae Rebo Destination From Labuan Bajo Is Cut Off

JAKARTA - West Manggarai Police Lembor Police Chief Ipda Vinsen Bagus said the route to the Wae Rebo tourist destination from Manggarai Regency was cut off due to the damage to the Nanga Kalo Bridge in Borik Village, Satar Mese Barat District, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

"According to information from the Satar Mese Police, the shoulder of the bridge was eroded by flooding due to yesterday's heavy rain," he said in Labuan Bajo, Friday, June 13, as reported by ANTARA.

Vinsen also explained that the damage to the bridge due to extreme weather could also be caused by tidal flooding, because the bridge is close to the coast.

Then to the Wae Rebo tourist destination, tourists from Labuan Bajo often go through the Nangalili route, Manggarai Regency, which passes through the Nanga Kalo Bridge in Borik Village.

Tourists, residents and tourism actors are asked to choose alternative routes to other Wae Rebo tourist destinations, namely passing through Simpang Pela - Manggarai.

"It is certain that the bridge cannot be passed by four-wheeled vehicles, so it continues information from the Satar Mese Police so that tourists or other road users avoid this route," he said.

Ipda Vinsen also asked residents and tourists to increase their vigilance because there is still a hydrometeorological disaster due to extreme weather in the NTT region.

Meanwhile, the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reminded the public, especially in coastal areas of the waters of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to be aware of the potential for tidal flooding on June 13-14, 2025.
