Many Investors Ragu, Menpar Widiyanti Express The Challenges Of Tourism Infrastructure Development In Indonesia
JAKARTA - A number of challenges are being faced by the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) in building Indonesian tourism infrastructure. This was conveyed by the Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana at the International Conference on Infrastructure 2025 (ICI 2025) at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC).
According to him, tourism not only depends on large infrastructure such as roads, electricity, and airports, but tourism also depends on public facilities and information centers.
"We realize that infrastructure development has its own challenges, one of which is attached to Indonesia's geographical conditions with so many remote areas and still difficult to access," said Minister of Tourism Widiyanti in her official statement.
The next challenge is the development of infrastructure that is still layered and dependent on each other. The Minister gave an example of the development of sanitation which still relies on access to clean water.
"And this remains a challenge in certain destinations," said Menpar.
Community readiness in maintaining development assets and understanding to realize sustainable tourist destinations is also a challenge in tourism infrastructure development.
