PTPP Builds Modern Vertical Hospital In Riau

JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) continues to show its commitment to supporting national infrastructure development by completing strategic projects that have a direct impact on the welfare of the community in accordance with the Asta Cita program.

One of the newest projects is the Physical Construction and Building of the UPT Vertical Riau Hospital, with a contract value of Rp663.2 billion and an implementation period of 600 calendar days. On this day, the Ground Breaking of the Riau Vertical UPT Hospital was officially carried out by the Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin and was also attended by the Daily Executive of the Riau Provincial Secretary M Job Kurniawan, and PTPP President Director Novel Arsyad and his staff.

This project aims to strengthen the health care system in Riau and the Sumatra region as a whole. This hospital is designed as a leading facility to treat severe diseases such as brain disorders, heart disease, and uronefrology. With the construction of this hospital, the people of Riau no longer need to seek treatment abroad or other big cities, thereby reducing economic burdens and increasing access to quality health services.

In accordance with the remarks from the Indonesian Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, the aspect of service is very important and is an indicator of whether or not the hospital service is good.

"We have to build the best hospital with modern facilities. This hospital must be a leading service center, not only for heart, stroke, and kidney, but also for prioritizing cancer treatment. The presence of this hospital is part of the great vision of the Ministry of Health in making Indonesian health services world-class, not only in terms of service, but also from technology and human resources," said Minister of Health Budi.

In addition, Budi hopes that this hospital can attract Indonesians, especially those on the island of Sumatra so that they no longer seek treatment in other countries such as Malaysia and Singapore.

"The hope is that the Riau Ministry of Health's Vertical UPT Hospital can attract 10% of Indonesian spending abroad of IDR 176 trillion rupiah every year," said Budi.

PTPP implemented a number of construction innovations that made this project a reference in technical efficiency and reliability. Such as Half Slab Precest for floor plates. This is used to accelerate the work of the upper structure while maintaining structural integrity and job quality. This system combines preprinting and casting elements in the field monolithically, reducing the need for staking and the risk of field errors.

In addition, an integrated preprint wall has a semi-basement. The precast wall method is used as a fixed staking for underground structural elements. This technique is very effective in high groundwater condition (8:2.5 m), improves the efficiency of time and quality of work, as well as lowers the risk of deformation in complex geotechnical environments.

PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo revealed that he was not only technically superior, UPT Vertical Riau Hospital also reflected local identity through the design of the traditional Melayu Riau architectural style facade. Joko said, elements such as roof shapes, distinctive ornaments, as well as color and material selection make this building an icon of culture as well as a modern health facility.

Joko further explained that this project is also expected to create a multiplier effect on the local economy, ranging from the medical tourism, hospitality, transportation, to culinary sectors.

"Financing fully by the central government, this hospital will ease the burden on regional budgets and support the pillars of health development within the framework of the 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision," said Joko, his statement, Friday, June 13.

What is clear is that Joko is proud to be part of a strategic project that integrates innovations for construction, cultural values, and social impacts. UPT Vertical Riau Hospital is a clear proof of PTPP's commitment to building a healthier and more resilient Indonesia.
