Collaborating With OpenAI, Mattel Presents Generative AI To Toy Makers

JAKARTA Mattel, the Barbie-making company, announced its latest collaboration with OpenAI. The two companies partnered in bringing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to a toy maker.

Not only to its production tools, a genre AI is also added to the IP repackaging path. Through this partnership, Mattel stated that OpenAI will help them in designing, developing, and launching innovative experiences efficiently.

Mattel also revealed that this collaboration will prioritize safety, privacy, and security in marketed products. That way, Mattel can develop creative products and ideas and encourage innovation in the future.

"Our collaboration with OpenAI will allow us to take advantage of various new technologies to strengthen our leadership in innovation and reorganize new forms of play," said Josh Silverman, Mattel's Chief Franchise Officer.

Josh added that Mattel believes in AI power. The model that OpenAI is developing is believed to be able to expand the reach of Mattel brands in a new and more attractive way.

Meanwhile, OpenAI revealed that Mattel's employees will benefit from using ChatGPT. Apart from ChatGPT, OpenAI will also provide other advanced AI models that are not disclosed in detail.

"With OpenAI, Mattel has access to a series of advanced AI capabilities along with various new tools to enable productivity, creativity and transformation across companies on a large scale," said Brad Lightcap, OpenAI Chief Operating Officer.
