From 133 To 110 Indexes, Immigration Cuts Visa Indonesia's Classification
The Directorate General (Dirjen) of Immigration of the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections has simplified the classification of Indonesian visas from 133 to 110 indexes, as a result of a thorough evaluation of the needs of visa applicants as well as efforts to optimize immigration services.
Acting Director General of Immigration Yuldi Yusman said, one of the important breakthroughs was the issuance of a C7C index visa, namely a visit visa for arts, cultural, and skills in other fields besides music.
"This visa allows foreign nationals to showcase their expertise in Indonesia. For example, magic performances, fan conferences (fans), to demonstrations of cooking by professional chefs (cooks) on television," said Yuldi in an official statement, Friday, June 13, which was confiscated by Antara.
In addition, the Directorate General of Immigration has set the A1 index for short-term tourism, business, and treatment activities which is less than 30 days. This is to make it easier for foreigners from visa-free subject countries.
"Previously, the business and treatment categories had their own index," said Yuldi.

Meanwhile, foreigners who want to use visas upon arrival (VoA) can now apply for visas with index B1 for tourist, business, and treatment purposes. This type of visa is valid for 30 days and can be extended once.
The Directorate General of Immigration also launched the E28F visa index for foreign investors who will invest in the capital city of the archipelago to answer the strategic needs of development in Indonesia.
There is also an E28G visa that is intended for foreign investors who are placed as representatives of the parent company in their branches in Indonesia. With this visa, foreign investors are possible to carry out their duties as representatives of the company.
The work visa index was also significantly simplified. From the previous 31 types of work visas to only six types.
"The visa for foreign experts with company guarantors which originally consisted of 20 indexes, E23B'E23W, is now integrated into the E23 index," explained Yuldi.
The Directorate General of Immigration also determined two new indexes for the work visa category with non-company guarantors, namely the E23U and E23V indexes. This is to provide flexibility for applicants from non-corruporate institutions or organizations.
The latest policy was implemented through the Decree of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections Number M.IP-08.GR.01.01 of 2025.
Through simplification of the index and adjustment of the type of visa, Indonesia's immigration services are expected to be more relevant to global dynamics.
