Hasto Trial, Language Expert Calls Unlogical About Clothing 'Drowned' Orders

JAKARTA - Language Expert from the University of Indonesia (UI, Frans Asisi Datang considered it illogical if the object or object referred to in the 'drowned' order was only clothes or clothes.

According to him, if the clothes that are the object, the word used in the order is not 'drowned' but 'submerged'.

The opinion was conveyed starting from the prosecutor reminding Frans that there was a message from a person named Gara Baskara and Sri Rezeki Hastomo.

However, Frans stated that when undergoing an examination at the investigation stage, he had never been shown that communication. The following is the content of the conversation:

"Ready, sir," said Gara Baskara.

"Ready, sir. You have permission to go to PIK first," said Gara Baskara.

The prosecutor also asked Frans to analyze the communication. Frans explained that one of his requests was to drown a cell phone.

"So, the use from the start. Ready sir means he respects the person who spoke to him in the chat. Then it was shown, this is actually the point showing that there was one cellphone that was ordered to be drowned. 'Well, that one just drowned. Don't think about it dear'," said Frans.

"Unfortunately here means you don't have to think about losing. The word unfortunately there does not mean greeting, no. But the loss in that context. For example, I said, it's a shame, how come the good cellphone fell like that. That's a shame it meant a loss there. The context," he continued.

Frans then mentioned the communication between Gara Baskara and Sri Rezeki Hastomo, one of which ordered drowning.

Hearing this, the prosecutor alluded to the testimony of one of the witnesses who explained that the sinking order was to drown clothes in the term Melarung.

"If the clothes are soaked. They are not drowned. But in this context it is clear, in terms of language, it is clear, the word refers to the word cellphone on it. It is related," explained Frans.

"So it is impossible for the bottom to appear, which is drowned, referring to others that were not mentioned before. Because this has a conversation on the relationship, we can even see, 10,48, below it, in terms of what it is called, the time is a little. 5, 3, 4, 8, and that means the chat is very close," he continued.

In fact, Frans said it doesn't make sense if the 'sprinkling' order is intended to soak clothes. Because, according to him, there is a description of the order to drown a cell phone.
