Distribution Of Social Assistance Will Use GovTech At The End Of The Year

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan stated that the distribution of social assistance (bansos) will use government digital services (GovTech) at the end of the year.

"Hopefully we can start trying this system at the end of the year through the social assistance program," said Luhut as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 12.

According to Luhut, this step is part of the government's fiscal disciplinary efforts, in which the government makes spending efficiency while increasing productive income.

By implementing digitalization on government services, it is hoped that it can support more disciplined fiscal performance.

That's why President Prabowo Subianto is pushing to move quickly with technology. The President targets the launch of this GovTech in August," said Luhut.

Prabowo has previously launched an e-catalog that has reached 90 percent of government procurement.

He believes this step encourages savings of up to 30-40 percent.

In addition to e-catalog, the government also has Simbara, which is an information system aimed at the mineral and coal sector.

Previously, Luhut said that the implementation of the Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) on the Family Hope Program (PKH), one of the social protection programs (perlinsos), is projected to save the budget of up to IDR 17 trillion per year.

The results of the calculation were obtained from the Coordination Meeting with the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) and the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB), as well as a number of relevant stakeholders.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of DPI which began with digitization in the social welfare program in Indonesia.

This meeting is part of an effort to accelerate the implementation of GovTech Indonesia, which is a direct mandate from President Prabowo Subianto, with a target completion before August 17, 2025.

Luhut emphasized that a social assistance system that is more targeted, transparent, and free from irregularities must be realized immediately to have a real impact on society.

"However, efficiency is not the only goal. We want to ensure that the presence of the state is increasingly felt for people who need it the most," added Luhut.
