COVID-19 Update As Of May 3: 4,730 New Cases, Recovering 4,773 Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 48,199 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 4,730 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,682,004 people and 100,564 active cases", the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Monday, May 3.

Cases recovered today increased by 4,773 cases so that a total of 1,535,491 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 153 people and a total of 45,949 people.

The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 1,292 cases and a total of 283,923 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 757 new cases with a total of 411,157 cases.

Central Java has 531 new cases and a total of 185,151 cases. Then, Riau has 341 new cases and a total of 45,578 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 944 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 687 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 599 recovered cases, and Riau with an increase of 398 recovered cases.

Four provinces reported no new cases as of today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were West Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 14,770,813.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 17.45 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 75,355 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, 12,457,164 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 7,678,485 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
