NASA Will Remove More Than 400 Accounts From Dozens Of Social Media
JAKARTA As a well-known space agency in the world, NASA has many accounts on social media. Not only dozens or dozens, the institution has hundreds of accounts on dozens of different platforms.
NASA Press Secretarywaste revealed that they have more than 700 accounts on 13 different platforms. Although not detailed, these hundreds of accounts can be found on X, Instagram, Facebook, Blusky, Threads, and many more.
NASA seems to be struggling in managing these hundreds of accounts so they will reduce the number.bany said that they would close more than 400 accounts in order to provide more targeted information.
"(we will maintain) more than 300 agency accounts on 15 platforms," waryan said, quoted on Thursday, June 12. "NASA is consolidating our social media footprint to be more focused so as to allow us to fulfill our responsibility to share NASA's stories widely."
They also revealed that a series of accounts will certainly remain active after the reduction is made. Some accounts that will remain active are NASA History, NASA Women, NASA Aero, NASA Technology, NASA Solar System, NASA Universe, and others.

NASA will also not delete the facility's accounts. The accounts are NASA Armstrong, NASA Glenn, NASA Goddard, NASA JPL, NASA Johnson, NASA Kennedy, NASA Marshall, and many more.
"By refocusing our footprint, we can be more careful, efficient, and engage (in various events), which allows us to be better at sharing NASA's stories with the world,"US explained.
Accounts that will be deactivated or terminated are accounts with similar content. If a wider channel manages to reach more audiences, less affordable accounts will be removed from the platform.
