Beware Of Fraud, Komdigi Affirms Never Asking For Personal Data On Online Judicial Players
JAKARTA - Director General of Digital Space Supervision of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, Alexander Sabar, emphasized that his party has never asked or stored public personal data related to online gambling.
This statement was made after Komdigi received a report from an agency that received a call from someone who claimed to be an employee of the Ministry of Education and asked for personal data from online gambling players at the agency.
In addition, Alex also revealed that there was a report from the public who received a similar call and was accused of being an online gambling player by a caller.
"People must be vigilant if anyone claims to be from Komdigi, we have never asked for personal data related to online gambling," said Alex in an official statement on Thursday, June 12.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Komdigi only has the authority to cut off access to illegal content in the digital space, including online gambling content. Meanwhile, other actions were carried out by authorities such as OJK, BI, and the Police.
"The authority of the Ministry of Trade is limited to terminating access to online gambling content," said Alex further.

Alex also asked the public to see online gambling players as victims who need help to recover from online gambling addiction. "Online gambling players are victims, they need help, their dealers are committing crimes," he said.
He emphasized that the Ministry of Komdigi continues to make efforts to carry out digital literacy and education on the dangers of online gambling to the community through collaboration with local governments and community organizations.
