Indonesia Tourism Is More Quality, Ministry Of Tourism: Increase Tourism HR Quality

JAKARTA - The role of quality tourism Human Resources (HR) is important to support the competitiveness of Indonesian tourism. One of them is in the Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar).

"Strong tourism is born from strong human resources. Poltekpar is the foundation for building Indonesia's competitiveness on the world tourism stage because this is where we hope that superior and quality tourism human resources will be printed," said Minister of Tourism Widiyanti.

So far, the educational institution under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism has consistently printed superior and highly competitive tourism human resources (HR).

This is very important to ensure the performance of the tourism sector is quality, sustainable, and has a broad impact on the community's economy.

One of these consistency benchmarks is seen from the absorption rate of Poltekpar graduates. Temporary data shows that Poltekpar has an average graduation ratio of 90.9 percent with a maximum waiting time of 3 months to work.

The Director of Poltekpar Bali, Ida Bagus Putu Puja, conveyed that the visit of the Minister of Tourism gave its own enthusiasm and motivation for academic community as well as students.

"Incidentally, today there is a visit from the Institute Tourism and Hotel Management from Salzburg, Austria and several foreign community colleagues such as China and South Korea. This momentum is very good to promote and strengthen the role of Poltekpar as a supporter of the tourism sector whose graduates are expected to always be able to compete at the global level," said Ida Bagus.

The challenges faced in managing Poltekpar today, said Ida Bagus, include how to build an ecosystem in line with the development of developing technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) and IoT.

"There are three components that we must develop in this ecosystem. The first is related to social culture. The second is digitalization. Third, we must also pay attention to how our green camp is implemented," said Ida Bagus.
