Ahead Of Hajj Return, DPR Reminds: Don't Bring Zam-Zam Water In Your Suitcase!
JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives' Hajj Supervisory Team, Anggia Ermarini, appealed to pilgrims not to carry excessive items when returning from the holy land. It is known that Indonesian pilgrims are scheduled to return to their homeland starting Wednesday, June 11, yesterday.
"We understand that pilgrims often want to buy goods to be gifts to families in the country. But we urge them to comply with regulations regarding goods that can be brought and cannot be brought and do not carry excessive goods so that they do not disturb the comfort of other pilgrims," said Anggia, Thursday, June 12.
Anggia said that pilgrims often carryzam-zam water which is packaged in bottles and put in suitcases. In fact, according to him, carryingzam-zam water like this is prohibited by airlines.
"Every pilgrim has been facilitated to bring 5 liters ofzam-zam water each which will be given to all pilgrims upon arrival in the country. So we hope that the pilgrims do not bring thezam-zam water and put it in the suitcase," he appealed.
Anggia also asked pilgrims not to carry excessive items exceeding the specified capacity. Each pilgrim is only allowed to carry a maximum of 32 kilograms of baggage and a maximum cabin trunk of 7 kilograms.
In addition, he also asked the pilgrims not to carry prohibited objects such as scissors, knives, or cutting tools, fluids in packages of more than 100 milliliters and foods with a pungent aroma. Spray of aerosols and matches as well as flammable objects and power banks with high capacity are also not allowed to be carried by pilgrims when returning to their homeland.
"I urge the pilgrims to remain calm and don't panic at every stage of their return. If there are obstacles or problems faced during the return process, the pilgrims can ask the Hajj officers," said Anggia.

In addition to giving appeals to pilgrims, Anggia also asked the Ministry to maximize the service for the return of pilgrims. He encouraged the readiness of the acceptance of pilgrims and the readiness of airlines that would bring pilgrims to their homeland.
"Make sure there are no delays in the process of repatriating pilgrims. Provide the best service to guests of Allah who have carried out this pilgrimage starting from departure from the hotel, at the airport before returning, while on the plane to return and gathering at the debarkation," he concluded.
