ASCA Bersama Aquatic DIY Holds Training And Certification Of International Swimming Coach
YOGYAKARTA - American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) held a Level 1-5 International Swimming Coach Training and Certification in Yogyakarta. In collaboration with Yogyakarta Aquatics and Indonesian Finishes, swimming coach training and certification were held for five days starting Wednesday, June 11, 2025) until Sunday, June 15, 2025 at The Rich Jogja Hotel, Sleman, Yogyakarta.
This training presents world coaches and instructors from ASCA, namely Atiba Wade and Tony Batis. The instructors who are also former top athletes will provide the latest in-depth insight and coaching methodology.
This makes this training and certification impossible to miss. The reason is this is a golden opportunity because the best coach from ASCA provides materials to improve skills in swimming.
Swimming coaches who take part in this training will receive a variety of materials including the latest swimming techniques. In addition, they receive lessons or training program planning materials, athlete development, and team management, and no less important, namely national and international competition preparations.
With the material presented, this program is fully aimed at professional swimming trainers, club/school coaches, and prospective coaches who want to improve competence and bring the achievements of Indonesian athletes to the world level. The ASCA training program has been held for the second time in Yogyakarta after 2023. The enthusiasm of coaches from various regions in Indonesia and Asian countries has made ASCA re-organize International Swimming Coach Training and Certification Level 1-5. Enthusiastically, it can be seen that the number of participants who have increased and the year can penetrate 161 coaches who participated in this training. Not only from Indonesia, but some participants also come from Malaysia and Japan.
"The implementation of this year's Level 1-5 International Swimming Coach Training and Certification was attended by no less than 150 participants from Indonesia and other countries. This shows the high enthusiasm of swimming coaches so that those who take part in training have increased," said Juni Udayani, Chair of the Training Implementation Committee.
According to Juni, in training the coaches will gain technical knowledge and knowledge such as styles in swimming followed by practice inside and outside the pool (dr. sickle). This material is for coaches who follow level 2.

Meanwhile, level 3 is also technical in coaching, namely the energy system and physiological. On the other hand, levels 4 and 5 are more non-technical, such as leadership and administration. This helps coaches deal with managerial issues at clubs and when their students participate in championships.
"In training, we can design how to prepare athletes to participate in championships or when they want to compete. I will help the coaches to reach a higher level," said Wade.
