BP Haji Akan Evaluasi Kinerja Petugas Haji Daerah Usai Penemuan Ketidakprofessionalan
JAKARTA The Hajj Organizing Agency (BP Hajj) will conduct a thorough evaluation of the recruitment process for Hajj officers, especially Regional Hajj Officers (PHD), after it was found that a number of officers were not carrying out their duties professionally during the 2025 Hajj season.
Deputy Head of BP Haji, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, said that his party still found PHDs that did not carry out their duties and responsibilities properly. Some of them are even suspected of only using the status of officers as a means to go for Hajj without making a real contribution in the field.
"The one in the spotlight is PHD. We still find those who do not work professionally. This must certainly be a serious evaluation material," Dahnil said in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, June 11.
According to Dahnil, this finding is a major concern because BP Haji will take full control of the Hajj from next year. Therefore, his party will make thorough improvements, including in the officer's selection and training system.
However, Dahnil also expressed his appreciation to the majority of officers who have carried out their duties with high dedication and full responsibility during this year's Hajj season.
"We appreciate all parties, especially Hajj officers who have worked hard in the field. Although there are still many things that need to be evaluated, they are still carrying out their duties in limited and challenging conditions," he said.
One of the challenges highlighted is the imbalance between the large number of congregants and the limited number of officers. This situation causes a heavy workload and has an impact on uneven distribution of services in the field.
"The number of our congregation is very large, while the number of officers is limited. This is a real challenge that must be overcome in the future," explained Dahnil.
As a concrete step, BP Haji will tighten the selection and training process for Hajj officers in the coming hajj season. The main focus is ensuring that every officer has high competence, integrity, and commitment to services for the congregation.
BP Haji also appealed to local governments that send PHD to be more selective in assessing prospective officers. The selection process must prioritize professionalism, not just fulfill quotas or as a form of political or social appreciation.
"We hope that the local government will not send officers just because of personal closeness or non-technical reasons. This assignment concerns worship services that must be accounted for in the world and the hereafter," said Dahnil.
He also asked prospective hajj officers in the future to really understand that their job is a big mandate that is directly related to the smooth running of millions of Indonesian pilgrims.

"Officers not only assist, but also serve and ensure that the congregation can carry out their worship comfortably and solemnly. This task must be carried out seriously," he concluded.
With a comprehensive evaluation and better training, BP Haji targets to improve the quality of Indonesian Hajj services in the future, along with efforts to make Indonesia the best example of Hajj organizers in the world.
