International Market Aminati, Transaction Of Indonesian Plastic Products Reaches IDR 24 Billion In Taiwan
The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) revealed that Indonesian plastic products attracted the attention of international buyers during the three days of holding exhibitions in Taiwan.
In fact, managed to record a potential and real transaction of USD 1.52 million or approximately IDR 24 billion.
The Plastics exhibition, Rubber & Composite Material Fair (PMT) 2025 will take place from June 4 to 6, 2025 at the International Convention & Exhibition Center (ICC), Tainan, Taiwan.
Indonesia also presents nine business actors who are members of three associations, namely the Indonesian Plastic Recycling Association (ADUPI); Association of Indonesian Olefin, Aromatics and Plastic Industries (INAPLAS); and the Indonesian Association of Biaxially Oriented Films (ABOFI).
Kepala Kantor Dagang dan Ekonomi Indonesia (KDEI) Taipei di Taiwan, Arif Sulistiyo mengatakan, hasil ini menunjukkan peningkatan daya saing dan posisi strategis Indonesia di rantai pasok industri plastik global.
"Indonesia products posted USD 1.52 million transactions at PMT 2025 during three exhibition days. This achievement reflects that Indonesian plastic products are not only competitive in terms of quality, but are also able to meet global industrial standards that are getting higher, especially in the manufacturing and packaging sectors," Arif said in an official statement, written Wednesday, June 11.
Arif detailed that Indonesia's superior plastic products such as biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP), which is the main raw material in the flexible packaging industry, managed to record real transactions of 840,000 US dollars or around Rp. 14 billion.
"Meanwhile, polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) managed to record a potential transaction of 682,000 US dollars or equivalent to Rp. 10 billion," he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Association of Biaxially Oriented Films Indonesia (ABOFI) Santoso Samudra assessed that this exhibition is an opportunity for Indonesian BOPP plastics to be better known both in Taiwan and in the international arena.
"Thank you toprivilegedI Taipei for initiating promotions for high-quality Indonesian products, especially environmentally friendly plastic packaging products, in the international market. Hopefully, collaborative promotional programs and synergies like this can continue and develop," said Santoso.

For your information, the total trade between Indonesia and Taiwan from January to April 2025 was recorded at 3.20 billion US dollars.
Indonesia's exports to Taiwan during that period were recorded at 1.86 billion US dollars and Indonesia's imports from Taiwan amounted to 1.34 billion US dollars.
Meanwhile, in 2024, the total trade between the two parties reached 10.62 billion US dollars. In that period, Indonesia's exports to Taiwan amounted to 6.68 billion US dollars and Indonesia's imports from Taiwan amounted to 3.94 billion US dollars. Thus, Indonesia has a trade surplus of 2.75 billion US dollars.
