PSI: Anies Baswedan Failed To Anticipate The Tanah Abang Crowd, Only Acted When It Went Viral
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) regretted the move by DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and his staff who failed to anticipate the increasing crowd ahead of Eid.
A member of Commission A from the PSI faction, Wiliam Aditya Sarana, said that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government only started to act when it was widely reported in the mass media and social media, even though the crowd had started to surge in the past week in various places such as in markets, shopping centers and tourist attractions.
“The Tanah Abang crowd didn't suddenly happen in one day, it's just that Governor Anies only took action when it went viral in the media. If it is not viral, I don't think there will be any action, ”he said, Monday, May 3.
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is even considered by PSI as if it does not care about the rules it has made itself, namely the PPKM Mikro regulation which limits the number of visitors to 50 percent of normal capacity.
"There are almost no restrictions, let alone enforcement of regulations. The fall was just a written rule, "William said.
In fact, this weak enforcement puts the health of Jakarta residents at risk.
"The surge in the crowd always occurs ahead of holidays or long holidays, so the guard should be tightened automatically," he added.
For PSI, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government should have deployed Satpol PP in collaboration with PD Pasar Jaya to guard the market location. Checking the temperature and using masks must also be carried out with action if there are violations.
