BMKG Predicts Light To Heavy Rain In Various Regions Of Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that a number of major cities in Indonesia on Wednesday, June 11 have the potential to rain and be shrouded in thick clouds.

"On the island of Java, light to moderate rain has the potential to be in Serang, Jakarta, Semarang, and Yogyakarta. Meanwhile, Bandung and Surabaya have the potential to be thick cloudy," said BMKG forecaster Zhenny Husna, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday morning.

As for the Sumatra region, areas that have the potential to be shrouded in thick clouds are Aceh, Medan, Pekanbaru, Padang, Jambi, Bengkulu, and Palembang. Meanwhile, Tanjung Pinang, Pangkal Pinang, and Bandar Lampung are forecasted for light rain.

"Kupang and Mataram are predicted to be cloudy. Meanwhile, Denpasar has the potential for light rain," he said.

Furthermore, he said, on the island of Kalimantan, heavy rain accompanied by lightning has the potential to rain with lightning, namely Tanjung Selor and Banjarmasin. As for Palangkaraya, and Samarinda, light rain is forecast. Pontianak has the potential to be thick cloudy.
